He termed it as the kingdom of God. Like-minded protestant supported him and agreed that social problems are a major cause of moral problems. He preached and persuaded Christian’s mainly upper class and middle-class society. They believed that if an individual is provided with their physical need their moral menace would come to an end. They provided it spiritually and morally to improve their life.
The protestant were among the first organization to improve urban reforms and social welfare programs. The churches were now opened on weekends for working class people and they also lit the lamp of literacy through social work.
In 1892, he along with his friends formed a group called “Brotherhood of Kingdom”. He proposed a theology of social gospel and his teachings were known as the doctrine of the Kingdom of God.
