Anita Karwal has been appointed as the Chairperson of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) replacing Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi. Karwal who was the Gujarat Chief Electoral officer during the Lok Sabha election after is the new face on the chair of CBSE chief as Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi has now been transferred to the National Skill Development Agency.

Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi was a 1987 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh and was appointed for a five-year duration and served as the chairman of the board for around 1.5 years.
Under the term of Rajesh Kumar Chaturvedi CBSE was dragged down into courts and controversies many times National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) was one of them.
