To combat air pollution China has built the world’s biggest air purifier. The 328-meter tower is built to reduce the smog levels in the country. The air purification tower is built in Xian in Shaanxi province. The operators of the world’s biggest air purifier have claimed that the experimental tower of 328 meters (100 feet) high in northern China has brought a noticeable improvement in the air quality. The 100 feet high (328 meters) experimental tower is undergoing testing at the Chinese Academy of Sciences by the researchers at the Institute of Earth Environment. Cao Junji, the head of the research said that improvements in air quality have been observed over an area of 10 sq km (3.86 sq mi) in the city. More than 10 million cubic meters (353 million cubic feet) of clean air has been produced by the air purifier over the past few months. The head of the research, Cao Junji stated that the air purifier works through greenhouses covering. He said that the air purifier sucks in the polluted air into the glasshouses and is heated by the solar energy. The hot polluted air then rises through the air purifier and passes through the multiple layers of its cleaning filters. He said that the results are encouraging and the air purifier has reduced smog close to its moderate levels.
