Is it bad to hear about a group who are supposedly “threatening” another group that you literally heard about a week ago, and then immediately head out and kill them all in their sleep? Is it bad to kill 30 people from another group you just heard about and then bitch and moan and start a brutal WAR because TWO of your people were killed in payment of the THIRTY that YOU AND YOUR GROUP killed first?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, then no, Negan is NOT a bad guy. He was attacked first by Rick and company, without provoking them. What makes him an evil bad guy is using extortion, like a protection racket that the mafia used to use. Pay me or else! And the or else is murdering people in brutal fashion “to prove a point” and get people in line. He is the classic bully, and I cannot stand a fucking bully.
He then decided that instead of killing the entire group, he would only kill ONE person as payment for the thirty of his own people who were killed by Rick and company. Then, Daryl punched Negan after Negan killed Abe, and instead of killing him or the rest of the group, he killed Glenn to teach them that he will, in his own immortal words, “shut that shit down, no exceptions” if they attacked him or his people again.
And Rick then went away pissed off and sad, and proceeded to start an entire fucking WAR to “defeat the bad guy” and ended up getting a whole shit load of people killed, when they all would’ve stayed alive if Rick hadn’t fucked with Negan and the Saviors. Plus, because he was too busy killing people he didn’t like, Carl, his own SON, died! So Negan is a good guy. If we saw the show from HIS point of view from the very beginning, we’d be looking at Rick and Co in a WHOLE DIFFERENT LIGHT!!
