Om Prakash Rawat completed his graduation and post graduation from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (BHU). He has the degree of BSc as well as MSc in Physics. O P Rawat also received a postgraduate degree in Social Development Planning from the United Kingdom in 1989. In the year 2009 Om Prakash Rawat received ‘recognition of forest rights' award from the state government of Madhya Pradesh.
