“Qutb ud-Din Aibak” is the founding father of the Slave Dynasty in India in 1206. The Slave Dynasty came to an end in the year 1290. Slave Dynasty is also known as, Ghulam Dynasty, and Mamluk Dynasty.

The Slave Dynasty’s first and the last rulers were, first the introducer of the dynasty was Qutb ud-Din Aibak from 1206 to 1210, and the last ruler was ‘Muiz ud din Qaiqabad’ from 1287 to 1290. The Slave Dynasty has been succeeded by the Khilji Dynasty.
Qutb ud-Din Aibak was the slave and the sipahsalar of Muhammad Ghori. Qutb ud-Din Aibak was born in Central Asia to a Turkish Family, and during his childhood, he was sold as a slave. He won Banaras in 1194 A.D. being the viceroy of Sultan Mohammad Ghori. As well as, he defeated the Raja of ‘Ajmer’, and won the kingdom of ‘Gujarat’ as well. In addition to this, after conquering the Gwalior, he forced the Raja Solankhoal to pay tribute to the ruler.
In 1210, Qutb ud-Din Aibak was succeeded by ‘Iltutmish’, and then followed by Razia Sultan the first female ruler of history, and Balban. The famous Qutub Minar in Delhi was founded by Qutb ud-Din Aibak but was completed by Iltutmish. Qutb ud-Din Aibak died due to a misfortunate accident as he falls from his horse while playing Chaugan (known as Polo). As a result, he has been the ruler of the Slave Dynasty only for four years. He was the most generous ruler of his time, so he has been nicknamed as ‘Lakha Baksh Sultan’. After death, his tomb was made near the Anarkali Bazaar, in Lahore, which is now in Pakistan. During the Slave Dynasty, many peoples from Afghanistan and Persia were migrated and make India their home, as the Western- Asia has been sieged by the Mongols.
