Indian constitution clearly stipulates about the amendment in the constitution under article 368. It provides for a distinctive amendment process when compared to the Constitution of other nations. When our constitution framers while debating the framework of Indian constitution focused on easy and soft amendment procedure especially Brajeshwar Prasad and P.S Kamath while debating in constituent assembly advocated for flexible procedures to amend the constitution. Part XX of Indian constitution under article 368 provides special sections about the amendment in Indian Constitution. It states about some clause about the legality of amending the constitution.

An amendment bill can be introduced in any house of the Parliament as government or private bill. Amendment bills are treated as Money Bills. It must be passed in both houses separately with an absolute & special majority.
The first amendment of Constitution was brought in 1951 then PM Of India JL Nehru himself. Later the a large scope of the amendment was done in 42nd amendment act when the government of India added few more special words in the preamble of Indian Constitution.
The procedure of amendment in constitution was borrowed from France.
