Sela Pass which is called as Se La is located on the border between the Tawang and West Kameng districts. This high altitude mountain pass is located in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Sela Pass has an elevation of 4170 m (13,700 ft) and it connects the Tibetan Buddhist town of Tawang to Dirang and Guwahati.
Arun Jaitley the Finance Minister of India announced that the Union Government will be building a tunnel through the Sela Pass. The purpose of building the tunnel is to ensure faster movement of ammunition and troops in Tawang. The union government is developing this tunnel to secure the defence of the country.
