In New Delhi “The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry” has launched the ‘Start-up-India’ ranking framework on January 16, 2016.

It is an initiative to promote Start-up and drive Economic Growth of the Country. The Start-up-India ranking framework was introduced by ‘Suresh Prabhu’. He said, India is a home for about 20,000 Startups, and 1,400 startups beginning every year. It will also improve the innovation in technologies as well as the generation of employment every year in the many States of India. The government is taking measures to encourage and help the startups to establish themselves in the market in a proper manner. There are many States as well as Union Territories in India which focus towards promoting startup environment and have ease for business to start their new venture.
The Start-up-India ranking framework is following the three tools i.e. The State and Union Territory Startup Ranking Framework, the Compendium of Good Practices for Promoting Start-ups in India, and the Startup India Kit. The main objective of Start-up India is to encourage States and Union Territories to take proper steps to promote and strengthen the Startup ecosystem at the local level in the whole country. The Key points followed by the Start-up-India framework is to, provide 10,000 Crore amount for the start-ups as the funding pool. It will promote India as a Start-up hub across the world. It will also encourage entrepreneurship within the Country. The startups don’t have to pay the tax for the 3 years from the date of commencement. The increase in the number of Start-ups will create an Innovative hub in the Atal Innovation Mission.
The Start-up-India has been categorized into 7 areas of intervention which includes, Seed Funding, Incubation Support, Angel & Venture Funding, Startup policy & Implementation, Simplified Regulation, Easing Public Procurement.
