February 11 is the birth anniversary of great Unani researcher ‘Hakim Ajmal Khan’. Every year his birthday is celebrated as the National Unani Day. Hakim Ajmal Khan was not only an Unani Physician, but an all-rounder genius, freedom fighter, educationist, and the founder of Scientific Research in Unani Medicine. As the year 2018, was more special for the Unani Fraternity, as the year was marked as the 150th Birth Anniversary Celebration of Hakim Ajmal Khan. The make the special day and the 150th anniversary, the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine (CCRUM). The International Conference of Unani Medicine was organized under the Ministry of AYUSH in New Delhi on February 10, as to mark the day for the celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Hakim Ajmal Khan.

The theme of the two-day conference was, ‘Integration of Unani System of Medicine in the mainstream Healthcare’. The 2-day celebration event involves many other activities like Marathon, Writathon, Quiz Competition, Public Health Talk, Daily Health Tips, for the welfare of the general public, as well as workshops, were organized across the country. The conference was inaugurated by the Minister of State for Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region.

Many National Level personalities and stakeholders from industry, research, and regulatory boards from the field of Unani have participated in the conference. The delegates from many countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, South Africa, US, UK, UAE, China, Portugal, Israel, Hungary, Slovenia, Bahrain, etc. have participated in the two-day International Conference. The International Conference tries to establish linkages with the other countries to promote the Unani System of Medicine as one of the most preferred medication systems across the globe.
