Who has taken charge as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Range?

As the new Inspector General of Police (IG) in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, K.K. Vijay Kumar has been appointed. Kumar is a 1997 batch IPS officer, S.K. P. Pani will take over this responsibility. Pani completed his term as Inspector General of Police in February and was given an extension of service till December.

Pani has been sent to the armed wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police as IG. There have been some very important incidents during his tenure, including the abolition of special state status given to Jammu and Kashmir on August 5 and the Pulwama terror attack in February.
The new IG Vijay Kumar was brought to Jammu and Kashmir seven months ago from Chhattisgarh, where he was IG in CRPF in the Chhattisgarh sector. Kumar played an important role during several state elections in 2018, for which he was awarded the Election Commission Award by the President. Apart from this, he has also received three gallantry medals from the central government for his important role in counter-terrorism operations and has also received gallantry awards from the Jammu and Kashmir government.
Vijay Kumar also played his responsibility in the Jat movement in 2016. Kumar, a postgraduate (postgraduate) from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), has also previously held responsibility in the Jammu and Kashmir Police. He has been appointed the first IG after becoming the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
