Investing in shares has always been a good option for people who are financially literate and want to generate an extra income through easy means. Surely, investment is not every body’s cup of tea because it requires patience, perseverance and attention along with financial knowledge. Investors/ traders will have to face losses and setbacks at the early stage of investing. But if they keep going on and don’t give up, then long- term investment is certainly going to pay them back.

One such story is of Vijay Kedia. He literally defines the phrase “from rags to riches” and shares his name in India’s top investors among others. Being fascinated by the share market due to a family of stock brokers, Vijay didn’t know how the share market worked. Because of this reason, he incurred huge losses in the beginning of his investment journey when he started investing at the age of 18 to provide for his family. His life was at the lowest during a point of time as he didn’t have food or shelter for a long time. But even then, he saved as much as he could and gathered knowledge about the market. This helped in overturning those earlier losses into small profits in the beginning.

During 2004-2005, he invested in those companies which were assumed to show no growth in the future. His patience & hard work paid off when the value of these companies appreciated 100 times of what they were thought to be, in a decade. After this success, he continues to invest in stocks of almost all big and small companies. He is believed to hold the current portfolio of nearly Rs.1000 crore.
