What was Manifest Destiny?

In the year of 1845, a phrase was coined recognized as ‘Manifest Destiny’, which portrayed the philosophy that drove in the U.S. territorial expansion in the 19th Century. It held that the U.S. is been destined by the Almighty and which would guide the belief for the expansion of the dominion, democracy, and capitalism across the continent of North America.

In December 1845 when Texas had admitted to the Union as a State along with the idea that the United States should definitely grow westbound, the distance to the Pacific Ocean, had taken firm hold among individuals from various locales, classes and political influences.

Manifest Destiny” is a phrase which has emerged out as the better way for expressing the mindset, which took its first appearance in the editorial, published in the year of 1845 in the month of July-August in accordance with the Democratic Review.

What was Manifest Destiny?

The annexation of Texas has been highly criticized by the opposition that was lingered against annexation, which was followed by an urge for the fulfillment of the Manifest Destiny which would have a hand in the expansion of the continent which was allotted by the Providence for the development for a yearly multiplying year.

In July 1845, another phrase also reappeared in a quite similar context, an article mentioned in the New York Morning NEWS, who the originator is believed to be John O’Sullivan, the phenomenal Democratic Review, and the Morning NEWS at that moment.
