Former Cricketer Syed Kirmani was awarded by the CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award in Mumbai for his contribution to Indian cricket,
The award was presented by the President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Mr. Shashank Manohar at the BCCI’s annual award function held in Mumbai.
Virat Kohli India’s Test captain was awarded with the Polly Umrigar Trophy for Cricketer of the Year.

Who has been chosen for the 2015 C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award?

Syed Kirmani was known as the India’s finest wicket keeper and for the first time Indian team won the World Cup in 1983 then he was a member of the Indian team.
He had played 88 Tests and 49 ODIs for India in his cricket career.
Test Career-
At an average of 27.04 he holds distinction of 198 removal as a wicket keeper in 88 Tests and had scored 2759 runs including two centuries,
Kirmani ODI Career-
 He had scored 373 runs by playing 49 ODIs for India.
World Cup:
The major glimpses of his career in the 1983 World Cup game was the 126-run rearguard partnership he shared with Kapil Dev against Zimbabwe in Turnbridge Wells.
In 2000 he had served as chairman of the national selection committee and after retiring from cricket.also vice-president of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Awards:
For his contribution to sports Union Government has conferred Padma Shree award to him.
About C.K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award.
To celebrate the birth centenary of Col. Cottari Kanakaiya Nayudu, country’s first Test captain on this occasion the award has been instituted by BCCI.
Award comprises a trophy, citation and cheque for 25 lakh rupees and the annual Lifetime Achievement Award honours individuals for their unparalleled contribution to Indian cricket on and off the field.

 Mr. Syed Kirmani, India’s former wicket-keeper batsman has been nominated for the prestigious C.K Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award. He will be the 23rd beneficiary of the award. The honor includes a trophy, reference and check for Rs. 25 lakhs. He played 88 test matches and 49 ODIs. In 1983 world cup, Kirmani won the best wicket-keeper trophy, in it, he imparted an unbeaten 126 run-association to Kapil Dev against Zimbabwe as the Indian captain went ahead to enlist one of India's greatest wins at Tunbridge Wells.
