Grand Slam Champion!

Who became New Zealand’s first Grand Slam champion since 1974, when he won the French Open Men’s Doubles Title for 2017?

Michael Venus turned out to be New Zealand's first Grand Slam champion since 1974 on 10th of June 2017, when he banded together American Ryan Harrison to the French Open men's doubles title.

Venus and Harrison vanquished Santiago Gonzalez of Mexico and American Donald Young 7-6 (7/5), 6-7 (4/7), 6-3 in the finals at Roland Garros.

The 29-year-old is simply New Zealand's second Grand Slam victory in the cutting edge time after Onny Parun collaborated with Australian Dick Crealy to win the men's doubles crown in Paris 43 years back.

Who became New Zealand’s first Grand Slam champion since 1974, when he won the French Open Men’s Doubles Title for 2017?

Cheers!
