P.T Usha who is one of the finest Indian Athlete is renowned as “Pyyoli Express”. P.T Usha was born on 27 November 1964 and is also known as Queen of the track and the field. P.T Usha officially got associated with Indian athletics in 1979. There are reasons why she is been renowned as the queen of tracks and “Payyoli Express” is because for almost 2 decades she was on the top of his game and she ruled the track. In the year 1986, she solely brought 5 medals for our country in which there were 4 gold medals. By achieving this amazing milestone she became a trendsetter for girls all over India.

- Set a national record at the state athletic meet at Kottayam, 1977.
- Captured the limelight as a junior athlete in the National inter-state meet at Kollam, 1978.
- Participated in the Moscow Olympics, 1980.
- Became the first Indian woman to reach the final of an Olympic event.
- She became one of the youngest Indian sprinter, aged 16, to compete in the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
- Participated in the 1982 New Delhi Asian Games.
