Battle of Plassey!

When was the Battle of Plassey was fought?

The battle of Plassey was fought on 23rd of June 1757, let us hear out from the history of that time…

Brits marched out to the grove of Plassey, which is been established 100 km north of Kolkata, at the heads of 1000 Europeans and sepoys 2000 in numbers which included 8 pieces of artillery. The armed force of Bengal comprised of 35000 viceroy’s on foot and around 15000 of the horses along with the 50 cannon. Thus this battle was fought between the forces of Siraj Ud Daulah, along with his French support and British East India Company troops which was headed by Robert Clive. This was one of the events which were considered to be the part of the Seven Years War.

AS the outcome the Nawab were defeated and fled the scene on the camel along with 2000 horsemen. Primarily, he went to Murshidabad and later to Patna by boat but was eventually stalked by the soldiers of Mir Jafar.

The Traitors of Plassey:

The trustworthy commando of Nawab was Mohan Lal and Mir Madan. Wherein Rai Durlabh acted as the right arm of the army, the Center was taken care by Yar Lutuf Khan and the Left army was commanded by Mir Jafar.

The Nawab's armed force had assaulted energetically in the first place however Clive kept his ammo for possible later use and officers’ safe under a groove. There was a precipitation, which drove the ammo and powder of Nawab doused while the British utilized coverings to secure their ammo. At the point when the Nawab's armed force understood that the British ammo is rendered inadequate Mir Madan requested that the rangers assume responsibility, however, the following minute a shot from British asserted his life. Nawab attempted to accommodate with Mir Jafar, however, he didn't turn up.

The Battle traitors were the following:

  • Mir Jafar: He was the first titular Nawab of Bengal flooring the red carpet for the British Empire in India
  • Jagat Set: He was a Manwari Banker, whose entire family was beheaded by Mir Kasim post 9 years of the Battle
  • Amir Chand: He bagged 5% of the treasure post Mir Jafar was announced to be the next Nawab, but unfortunately was deceived by the Brits by their fake treaty and was enough to plunge him into the mental retardation, later on, he only survived for 10 years resulting to his anonymous death
  • Manik Chand: He was one of the officers in Kolkata
  • Rai Durlab: He was considered to be the treasurer of Nawab
  • Ghaseti Neghum: She was the rich maternal aunt of Nawab

And thus the history came to an end thus, resulting in the throne been named to Mir Jafar for which he paid around a sum of 1 crore 77 lacs for capturing the throne in his hand.
