Only Hindu’s well I don’t think even Muslims liked him……!

Being the King of Mysore Tipu Sultan is listed among one of the cruelest rulers in the history. Tipu Sultan wanted to convert his whole kingdom into an Islamic state, within his rule he use to slaughter people who were non-believers of Islam in a very barbaric manner. Regarding himself as the protector of Islam he forced peoples to convert themselves to Islam.

Why was Tipu Sultan hated by a section of the Hindu population?

So as you were asking why he has been hated by a particular section of Hindu population. So here I have come up with key reasons which make appropriate sense why he was been hated the most by each and every diversities who were present in his era.

  • By hook or by crook he wanted his whole kingdom to worship only Islam
  • He plundered and demolished the places where other religion used to worship
  • Tipu sultan imposed heavy taxes on non-Islamic
  • Just like Aurangzeb he looted away the temples and demolished away churches and Jain’s worship places
  • Tipu sultan along with his troops mascaraed 800 people of Mandyam Iyengars because of a misconception
  • Tipu forcefully converted lakhs of Hindus, Jains, and Christians to Islam

Well, there are historians who demonstrate Tipu Sultan as a hero just because he fought a war against British Empire but the other side of history says something else and is claimed true that he was an anti-Hindu.
