Who is given credit for the invention of the light bulb?

In the field of science Thomas Alva Edison is a name that is not only known as an inventor but also as an entrepreneur. He has more than one thousand patents to his name. Edison, which invented the light bulb at home, had 1093 US patents. Apart from this, he had several patents in Britain, France and Germany. Hence he was recognized as one of the most successful inventors in history.

Edison had scientific and entrepreneurial abilities. He had traded all kinds of things in his childhood and during his life time he had established about 14 companies. Of these, General Electric (GE) continues to operate successfully even today. GE.com's official site, GE.com, wrote about Edison, detailing his initial actors, that Thomas Edison was an accomplished scientist. But little is known about his entrepreneurial abilities. He laid the foundation stone of today's GE company.
Thomas Edison, born on 11 February 1847, also patented the electrical distribution system in 1880, which was necessary for his invention of the light bulb in order to bring it to the public. He took the concept of electric energy to homes and factories. Edison, who worked as a telegraph operator early in his career, had a keen interest in the field of communications and had invented many communication devices including phonographs.

In childhood, Edison was of such a curious instinct that the teacher felt confused by his question and answer. Edison's mother taught him a lot of practical things in childhood, which led to Addison's interest in science. At the age of 19, he worked with News Wars in the Associated Press bureau. During this time he requested the officials to work in the night shift so that they could get a chance to study and experiment more.
