“Shree Saini” has been crowned the Miss India USA of 2017, at the Royal Alberts Palace in Edison, New Jersey. Whereas, Prachi Singh from Connecticut has crowned the first runner-up and from the North Carolina Fareena was crowned the second runner-up of the 2017 Miss India USA pageant.
Shree Saini was the student of the University of Washington. She is also an anti-bullying activist. At the beauty pageant, the cancer surgeon from Florida Kavita Malhotra Pattani has declared 2017 Mrs. India USA. Swapna Mannam (17) from New Jersey won the sash of 2017 Miss Teen India USA. While Simran was the first runner-up, and Kritika bagged the sash as the second runner-up of 2017 Miss Teen India USA.
However, more than 50 contestants participated from over the two dozen states in these three different beauty pageants namely, Miss Teen India USA, Miss India USA, and Mrs. India USA. The winners of the pageants used to get a good opportunity to face the camera and have got the opportunity to act in various Bollywood movies as well. The 2017 Miss India USA, the pageant was judged by a panel of 6 judges, which includes Prabhakar Sharan, the first Indian to establish a mark in the Latin American movie industry.
The Miss India USA pageant was started in the year 1980, by a New York based Indian-Americans namely Mr. and Mrs. Dharmatma and Neelam Saran. It is been the longest running Indian pageant taking place outside of India till now and has also provided a good platform to several renowned Indian artists such as Bollywood actresses Aarti Chhabria, Pooja Kumar, and Monica Gill.
