What is the national currency of Armenia?

Issued on 22nd November 1993, Its National Currency is Armenia Dram wherein 1 dram is equivalent to Indian Rupee 0.13.

The name Dram was first introduced in the 12th Century. Well, naming on further they came up with the total of 11 denominations of banknotes as, 10, 20, 50, 100, 1000, 2000, 5000, 20000, 50000 drams. Under such a beautiful architectural place as Greek, they were had cultural and historical monuments on their denominations with few of the famous Armenian Scientist and artist. Further, in 1998 new banknotes were introduced as the reason of demonetization which was specially designed by the Germany and England specialists.

In 2001 and 2009 the currency for 50000 honoring Christianity, a state religion of Armenia on its 1700th Anniversary and a banknote of 100000 honoring King Abgar V was issued respectively.
